With the announcement that this year is the 20th anniversay of the Pinnicles Classic, I jumped on board this solid local trail run. Previously advertised as 18 hills in 18kms – it’s a great loop with also a strong local community vibe to it.
Having Renee join as a relatively last minute counterpart, we agreed to run together and have a good catchup and treat it as social run.

The course ran clockwise this year, which alternates yearly, but I feel like I have done it anti clockwise – but either way – it’s going to be hilly!
Renee and I started, middle of the pack – kept the mantra of walking with purpose the ups, running the flats (minimal) and running the downs. Managing to spot a photographer provided a good fresh opportunity for a #jumper

This tried and tested pattern worked well for me.

Having good chats, and making some new friends on the way – learning about Endurance Horse riding (thanks Carla) and some other stories – which also cheering on all the participants doing the double, coming back the other way.

Once we hit South Boundry Rd, we turned the speed up a bit and then put the feet on the accelerator for the final long downhill to the finish.
Super enjoy-able morning and good to get a good 18k at a solid pace in 2 weeks before my next event.
